okay. so, i have always wanted to blog about an awards show. specifically the fashion, so that’s just what i’m doing. i may write a few things about the movies themselves, too.
the best dressed women:
sandra bullock – let’s be honest. this woman is amazingly talented and stunningly beautiful. in my book, she can do no wrong. she wore a fantastic metallic marchesa gown. i always love marchesa gowns & this was no exception. it had a real flair for old hollywood glamour. love it. and i loved “the blind side” - what a great, moving story!
jennifer lopez – always stunning. she’s gorgeous. and so was her iridescent pink armani prive gown last night. and her hair was fab.
kristen stewart – as much as i hate to admit this, she had one of the most beautiful dresses last night. i am not a fan of her at all, but i am a HUGE fan of her monique lhuillier midnight blue gown. a real work of art.
kate winslet – she got some slack for her yves saint laurent boustier gown, but i loved it. she’s one of my absolute favorites.
penelope cruz – this woman is a knock-out all the time. she is so beautiful! and i loved her red donna karan gown. gorgeous.
meryl streep – she is a fantastic actress! love her! and her white dress by project runway’s chris march was beautiful on her! i recently saw her in “it’s complicated” – hilarious! and i love “the devil wears prada”. great movie.
anna kendrick – i love her. i think she’s adorable & her elie saab pink gown was GORGEOUS. i loved it. can’t wait to rent “up in the air” – heard it was fantastic!
carey mulligan – how cute is she?! her prada dress was perfect for her…unique but classy. can’t wait to see “an education” – looks great!
demi moore – can i just say that she looks really freaking fantastic for 47?! oh my gosh! and i absolutely adored her peachy-colored atelier versace gown. so beautiful. plus, she has great taste in men.
cameron diaz – she looked absolutely gorgeous in her oscar de la renta gown. so pretty. she’s a great actress, too.
rachel mcadams – she is one of my favorite actresses! i just love her. she looked jaw-droppingly beautiful last night in her elie saab gown. so fantastic!
miley cyrus – i’m not really sure why she was at the oscars, but i did love her champagne jenny packham gown. so beautiful! it reminded me of the one taylor swift wore to a recent awards show.
the best dressed men:
george clooney – DUH. he looked so good in his classic black tuxedo. hmmm.
jake gyllenhaal & ryan seacrest – both rocked classic burberry tuxedos. very handsome men.
zac efron & ryan reynolds - so cute. i love the classic tux look.
taylor lautner - he looked goooooood in his dolce & gabbana tux. love it.
overall, i was pretty pleased with the winners of the night…definitely made a list of must-see movies, including:
the hurt locker
an education
up in the air
nine
food, inc.
